exposure 2011 is a day of talks, seminars, demonstrations and trade exhibitions for Photographers and industry professionals and will run on Thursday 29th September at Ambika P3, University of Westminster in and amongst the2011 AOP Photographers Awards exhibition. The main exhibition area will host a variety of trade stands showcasing a range of industry companies exhibiting their products and services and there will be an exciting line-up of talks covering a wide range of contemporary photography topics. There will be a fourth area in which Photographers Awards exhibitors will showcase their portfolios with access available to commissioners of photography only.

Taking the Hargreaves Report Forward

The Government has accepted all of the proposals made by Professor Hargreaves in his report on Intellectual Property Reform. We have gathered a panel of experts to discuss the forthcoming Government proposals on taking forward certain aspects of the review:

Stand Your Ground – Taking Photographs in Public

Photographer Grant Smith will talk on the history of section 44, its impact on working photographers and how repealed by the actions of 2 journalists who sought justice in the European Court and a successful mainstream and social media campaign. The film “Stand Your Ground” will be featured as an introduction to the talk in order to illustrate the event with images from Grant’s recent experiences.
The Role of Photo Books in the Digital Age

Internationally known photography publisher Dewi Lewis will be giving a talk on the current issue of the role of photo books in the digital age, the impact new technologies have in the making of books and how this has transformed the publishing industry in recent years.
