Exposure 2011

We will have a stand at AOP Exposure 2011 tomorrow in London. Showing off some of our latest video and animation work along with updated retouching portfolios and fine art paper examples. Come along and meet us! DETAILS BELOW.







exposure 2011 is a day of talks, seminars, demonstrations and trade exhibitions for Photographers and industry professionals and will run on Thursday 29th September at Ambika P3University of Westminster in and amongst the2011 AOP Photographers Awards exhibition. The main exhibition area will host a variety of trade stands showcasing a range of industry companies exhibiting their products and services and there will be an exciting line-up of talks covering a wide range of contemporary photography topics. There will be a fourth area in which Photographers Awards exhibitors will showcase their portfolios with access available to commissioners of photography only.

Ticket Prices: £10 for AOP members and £15 for non-members for a full days access to all events

Taking the Hargreaves Report Forward

The Government has accepted all of the proposals made by Professor Hargreaves in his report on Intellectual Property Reform. We have gathered a panel of experts to discuss the forthcoming Government proposals on taking forward certain aspects of the review:

Simon Leach – Professional Photographer
Charles Swan – Partner Swan Turton
Tania Spriggens – Director of Communication DACS
The discussion will be chaired by Gwen Thomas, Executive Director Business & Legal Affairs AOP.

Blurb Bookmaking workshop
13:15 – 14:00pm
A workshop on how to create a book with Blurb. This workshop will give the opportunity to participants to learn how to self-publish using Blurb. This seminar provides a quick and easy overview of the platform, bookmaking tools, tips, tricks, marketing and eventually selling your book.

Lighting for fashion, beauty & portraiture

A demonstration with Bowens on on innovative lighting and creative light shaping tools by leading fashion and commercial photographer, Christian Hough.

Stand Your Ground – Taking Photographs in Public
15:45 – 16:30pm
Photographer Grant Smith will talk on the history of section 44, its impact on working photographers and how repealed by the actions of 2 journalists who sought justice in the European Court and a successful mainstream and social media campaign. The film “Stand Your Ground” will be featured as an introduction to the talk in order to illustrate the event with images from Grant’s recent experiences.

The Role of Photo Books in the Digital Age
17:00 – 17:45pm
Internationally known photography publisher Dewi Lewis will be giving a talk on the current issue of the role of photo books in the digital age, the impact new technologies have in the making of books and how this has transformed the publishing industry in recent years.

The British are Not Coming
18:15 – 19:00pm
A special talk by renowned Art Dealer and Gallerist Michael Hoppen on the presence of British photographers and their recognition in the international art market scene.

Graeme had fun up at the print club for a couple of days making a mess with screen printing inks.
